When you browse this website
Summary
We provide you with this page, make sure it stays secure and store access logs for a certain amount of time for the purposes outlined below.
Types of personal data
We keep access and error logs produced by our off-the-shelf web server software in its standard logging configuration. The only personal data held per log entry is your IP address with which your browser connects to our webserver.
Purposes and legal basis
We process your personal data for three purposes:
- Serving this website: To provide this page to you technically. Legal basis with respect to article 6 of GDPR: Your consent to receive this website.
- Security: To defend this website against possible attacks. Legal basis with respect to article 6 of GDPR: Our legitimate interest and legal duty to keep this site secure.
- Usage statistics: To run anonymous statistics about how well our site is received by our visitors, including reports like visits per day, the popularity of single pages, and mobile vs. desktop traffic. Legal basis with respect to article 6 of GDPR: Our legitimate interest is to improve our website for visitors to generate inquires from prospects interested in our professional services.
Storage
As already mentioned, our web server stores access and error logs that also include the IP address with which your browser connects to our webserver. The webserver stores these log files in the server's filesystem. We use an automated log rotation software that deletes all log files – and thus your personal data – older than 14 days.
For the purpose of security, we might store IP addresses longer than this period for blocking connections from IP addresses that produced malicious traffic in the past. If you believe we blocked your IP address by mistake and wish to visit this site again, please contact us.
Processors:
We exclusively use trustworthy processors that only process your personal data on our behalf ("processors") – our current hosting provider is the German Hetzner Online GmbH.
Other than that, there are no other processors or recipients involved, which means we neither share your personal data with any other third party, nor do we transfer any data to third countries.
Cookies: Our website does not use any cookies.
